Elanor Moss releases debut album The Knife, the Needle

The folk-leaning record arrives with soft guitars, horn and string arrangements, and a centrepiece song about domestic violence.

Elanor Moss has released her debut album, The Knife, the Needle, out now. The record takes a 60s folk turn: soft, ambling guitar carries most tracks, with horn and string arrangements fleshing things out.

Track titles like 'You're Coming Home Tonight', 'Again, My Love', and 'Clothes in a Hotel Sink' sketch a record about intimacy and its fray points. The song 'Sarah Waiting in the Car' sets gentle lyrics against violent ones: "you're so gentle baby", then "you're so violent baby". It centres on intimate partner violence.

Amanda Farah reviewed the album for The Quietus. Nothing else is announced yet.
