Elena Tonra's solo project returns with a Paris hotel demo and guitars run through a vocoder. Save As lands October 30.
BY JOLT Staff · Oct 6 2026 · 1 min readEx:Re, the solo project of Daughter's Elena Tonra, released "Sleep" on October 6, the first single from the album Save As. A live in-studio performance, filmed at 4AD's London studio, arrived with it.
"Sleep" began as a demo written during a stay in a Paris hotel. That demo held its shape into the studio recording, where the arrangement runs guitars through a vocoder. The record builds low and uncluttered, closer to a held breath than a statement.
Save As is out October 30, eight years after the project's debut. It follows the September track "Radio Station." Nothing else from the album is announced.
4AD issued the single.
