Fontaines D.C. drop fifth album 'Dopamine Chamber'

The Dublin band move into electronic and gothic territory on a record bleaker than anything they have released before.

Fontaines D.C. released their fifth album 'Dopamine Chamber' on October 13, 2026. The record moves into electronic and goth textures, with 'Six Short Morning' opening and lead single 'Marianne' inside. 'Mimesis', 'Tongue' and penultimate track 'Japan' also appear. ROSALÍA features on 'Where Is Gone?'.

The band cite Nino Rota, Massive Attack, Mina and Portishead as touchstones. The lyrics run bleaker and more existential than the group's earlier work. Grian Chatten gave the title its thesis in a comment on self-prescribing dopamine through the phone, calling the habit quite grotesque.

A review of 'Dopamine Chamber' went up at 8/10. The band brought Kurt Vile onstage at a recent show where they also played songs now confirmed for the album.
