Foo Fighters open for AC/DC again, Grohl takes "Highway to Hell"
At MetLife Stadium on Friday, Foo Fighters filled in as surprise openers on the PWR UP tour, and Grohl stayed on for one song.
BY JOLT Staff · Oct 3 2026 · 1 min readDave Grohl walked out with AC/DC at MetLife Stadium on Friday and sang "Highway to Hell" at a sold-out show where Foo Fighters had already played a secret opening set. It was the second time the band filled that slot on the Australian group's PWR UP tour, after the first substitution on this run.
Before the song, Grohl told the crowd about the first time he saw the band's Let There Be Rock concert film, at 11 years old. He said it showed him that rock and roll was "sweat, and blood, and fucking tears, and every ounce of energy you have," and added: "I saw that movie when I was 11 years old, and I was like, 'I wanna do that for the rest of my fucking life.'"
The stadium show closed a leg of the tour that had already carried two surprise sets from the band. AC/DC return to the road on the previously announced schedule.
