Greg Freeman drops third album All Set the Bone

The Chicago songwriter follows last summer's Burnover with a 13-track record he calls high-stakes, and not a chill listen.

Greg Freeman released All Set the Bone on October 15, his third album and a 13-track indie rock record. He spoke to Playboy from home in Chicago soon after waking up that morning.

It follows Burnover, the second album that broke him through last summer. The new one runs on contrast: Freeman says the first half is "way more intense" and the second half "gets pretty deep, just in a different way," with the whole thing "pretty high-stakes, not a chill listen, necessarily." Tracks include "Costs," "Hail Mary," and "Withdrawn."

He also said he wanted to keep the songs separate from the person who made them, and could not. "In an ideal world, it would just be your music that exists and not the person behind it," he told the magazine.
