Imperial Teen drop All Over You, their first album in seven years

The San Francisco four-piece return on Merge with a record that opens on Overdrive and arrives seven years after their last full-length.

Imperial Teen released All Over You on Friday, October 9, via Merge. It is the band's first full-length since 2019. The record opens with Overdrive, where Will Schwartz takes the verses and Jone Stebbins the chorus.

A little housekeeping, since this band has been at it a while: Seasick, the debut, turns 30 this year. The quartet left Slash for Merge back in 2002 and stayed. Roddy Bottum made his name in Faith No More at the top of the nineties; drummer Lynn Truell came up through the San Francisco proto-grunge of Sister Double Happiness.

The members no longer all live in the same city. You can hear the distance paying off in lines like "Don't take too long / just write the song," and in "Yeah, we're right on time," both from Lynn Truell. All Over You is out now on Merge.
