Julia Holter’s Materia lands as a companion to Something in the Room She Moves

Julia Holter released Materia on Friday via Domino: seven tracks drawn from the sessions for 2024’s Something in the Room She Moves, built around two new versions of that album’s title song.

It also includes “My Twin,” the ten-minute improvisation that the earlier single “Fantasy” was cut from. Companion records usually collect leftovers; this one argues the songs weren’t finished being written.
