Lamplight announce new album, share lead single 'Clover'

Lamplight, the band led by Brooklyn by way of Roanoke musician Ian Williams, have a new album coming. 'Lick The Spoon, Let It Soften' is out October 23 on Western Vinyl, and the lead single 'Clover' is out now.

'Clover' is the second track on the 13-song record and, according to Williams, it's where the title comes from. "It's a song about grieving, but also one about presence," he says, "a reminder to let the moment sit on your tongue a little longer." The record also includes an alternative take, 'Clover (Slow)'.

The album follows Lamplight's 2024 self-titled debut, also on Western Vinyl. Williams describes the new material as 'creek-steeped folk', and on 'Clover' he sings, "Is your yard still full of clover and white oak? I never minded when it rained my shirt soaked."
