Land of Talk released a double single, "Dogs" / "Cats", on 14 October, with a music video for each track directed by Ana-Maria Espino Trudel, who has also worked with Nap Eyes and Eve Parker Finley. Both songs follow lead single "4:44" and the announcement of album number six.

The album is LASTS, out 13 November 2026 via Saddle Creek and Powell's first since 2023's Performances. It was recorded in a cabin in rural Harrington, Quebec, with Michael Feuerstack on bass and pedal steel, plus engineering and mixing.

Powell says she wrote "Dogs" trying to capture how listening to The Cure makes her feel: "I wasn't sure exactly what that meant, but was thinking it would lend itself to looking back on loves lost, yearning, regret. What came out was a simmering rage borne from living under the patriarchy." She describes "Cats" as having "unintentionally sounded not unlike mischievous cats breaking into our studio after hours and jumping all over the instruments."

LASTS arrives 13 November 2026 via Saddle Creek.
