Marissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky release two new Droneflower songs
The pair revive their collaboration as Droneflower with the single Burials, and a second album is already in the works.
BY JOLT Staff · Oct 4 2026 · 1 min readMarissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky put out two new songs, "Sky Burial" and "Drive It In", as Droneflower on October 2. The two-song single is titled Burials.
Nadler and Brodsky met at Saint Vitus, the Brooklyn metal venue that recently reopened at a new location. They released a collaborative album, Droneflower, in 2019 and toured it. That project title now serves as the band name. Shearwater's Emily Lee, who played keyboard on that tour, plays on both new tracks.
Nadler, a dark folk artist who released the solo album New Radiations last year, keeps a solo recent credit too: a Buddy Killen cover with old collaborator Milky Burgess. On Burials, she takes lead on "Sky Burial", the longer of the two songs, while Brodsky, frontman of Cave In and Mutoid Man, handles lead vocals on the shorter "Drive It In".
Nadler has said she, Brodsky, and Lee are working on a second Droneflower album. No release date for it has been announced.
