Minor Conflict announce third EP Residents, share 'Surveillance Operator'

Minor Conflict will release their third EP, Residents, on 12 February 2027 through Fascination Street Records. The Bristol band shared the first preview, "Surveillance Operator", on Thursday 21 October 2026.

The EP follows Bright Lights, Dead City in 2023 and Parallels last year. Ali Chant produced it at Real World Studios, and it carries a contribution from PVA's Louis Satchell. Squid's Ollie Judge plays drums on the single. The band say the song was barely written when Chant brought them in: "When Ali invited us to record at Real World, 'Surveillance Operator' was just an early sketch and had no lyrics." Josh and Natalie wrote the words at the studio, about the relationship between seeing and being seen, with the 2006 film The Lives of Others behind them.

Residents runs five tracks: "Surveillance Operator", "Scales", "Seven Song", "Flat 2" and "Chatter". The band play Simple Things in Bristol on 7 November and headline The Sebright Arms in London on 28 November, with a post-release show at Rough Trade East on 18 February 2027.
