The Nashville singer-songwriter wrote and recorded the track in a single sitting after a severe rainstorm washed out part of the mountain road to her house. Per Mynolia, the song began with a weird guitar tuning she first used for a for-fun track called "Sweatpants And Straitjackets" some years ago. "An act-of-God natural boundary formed between my home and the outside world and it was exactly what I needed," she said. Florian Holoubek played drums; Rich Ruth handled final production, mix, and synth flourishes.
"Take The Mountain By Surprise" follows previously shared singles "Needle," "Run Like Hell," and "Holy Line." Salt Around My Bed is out 1/15/27 via Full Time Hobby.
