PISS on their debut album and the weight they carry on stage

Vancouver hardcore quartet PISS talk you made me / skin on linen, their first full-length, and writing about sexual violence.

PISS, the Vancouver hardcore punk quartet, discussed their debut album you made me / skin on linen and the band's dynamic in an interview published Sep 29, 2026. The record follows their 2024 three demos EP and a third European tour. No label or release date for the album has been announced.

Formed in 2023 when guitarist Tyler Paterson convinced vocalist Taylor Zantingh to move from Victoria, the band also includes drummer Garreth Roberts and bassist Gavin Moya. "It's true: when we're together, we just laugh non-stop," Roberts said. "It's fun and easy, even when things are hard."

Zantingh's lyrics address gender-based violence and sexual assault. "I truly believe that sexual violence is a soul wound that touches everybody in some way," they said, adding, "being a traumatized person on stage in front of so many people isn't easy."

And, why not, riff-wise: PISS play it big, pouncing after grunge-buzz to pulse-forward ends. A quiet-versus-burst sprint pulls sharp and hooked sharp until ending gone.
