Prize Horse sign to Closed Casket and drop "The Big Picture"
The Minneapolis shoegaze trio's first single for the heavy hardcore label is the first song written for a new LP, with demos going back to 2023.
BY JOLT Staff · Oct 20 2026 · 1 min readPrize Horse released "The Big Picture" on October 19, their first single for Closed Casket Activities. The Minneapolis shoegaze trio moved to the label, which specializes in heavy hardcore, from New Morality Zine, the home of their 2023 full-length debut Under Sound. A new album is said to be on the way, but no title or release date has been announced.
The band says "The Big Picture" is the first song written for that record, with demos dating back to 2023. In their words, it is "a step into a darker, more brooding environment compared to Under Sound," and it ends with one of the heaviest sections they have written. The lyrics, per the band, deal with days when nothing feels right from the start and choices feel crushing.
Tour follows. Prize Horse head out across North America with Graham Hunt, starting October 21 at New World in Minneapolis, then a European run with Spite House. Nothing else about the LP is announced.
