Scrambled Eggs compile decade of Beirut post-punk

Scrambled Eggs released 'Happier Together, Filthier Than Ever: The Best Of' on Ruptured Records on August 26, available on vinyl LP. The compilation draws from two earlier releases: 'Happy Together, Filthy Forever', recorded before, during, and after Lebanon's July 2006 war, and 2010's 'Peace is Overrated & War is Misunderstood', collecting demos and unreleased material from 2006–2009.

Per Bandcamp Daily, the quartet's post-punk assault, influenced by Gang of Four and The Pop Group, turns minimalist and modal: tracks like 'Bleeding Nun' and 'Johnny Anti-Christ' leave no room for chord changes. Jim Allen calls it "a candid snapshot of a country beset by deadly turmoil," with the band's force of will "inspirational" even from a remove.
