Shabazz Palaces released a new album, It's a Style Sport, on October 20. The project is helmed by Ishmael Butler, formerly Butterfly in Digable Planets and a Grammy-winning rapper. Bandcamp Daily ran it as Album of the Day.

The title comes from a lyric on Lese Majesty's 'Forerunner Foray'. Butler's background sits in the record from the first note, but the sharpest detail is a scrap of phrasing in the lyrics: 'I wrote it on a rainy day,' and later 'I wrote you on a rainy day.' The closing track, 'From One Future To Another', is a dreamy shoegaze ballad. 'Tongue in Chic' lands somewhere near Prince covering the Weird Science theme.

Merch runs through Vinyl LP, Compact Disc and a T-shirt. The album, the physicals and the shirt are what the rollout carries.
