The Brooklyn-via-Vancouver shoegaze band's follow-up to if you were here i'd be home now lands 22 January 2027, with November US dates behind she's green.
BY JOLT Staff · Sep 29 2026 · 1 min readsmush have announced their second album. i'll always wish,, arrives 22 January 2027, with lead single "milkweed butterfly" out now. The Brooklyn indie rock and shoegaze band recorded the single with Jackson Baker of witches exist in Austin, Texas.
It is the quartet's first full-length since 2024's if you were here i'd be home now, and follows February's self-released covers EP standards, six shoegaze reworkings of Norah Jones, Owl City, Field Medic and others. Since Vancouver, the band has expanded: Emily Borrowman (bass, vocals) and Atley King (guitars) now write with drummer Rudi Neubrander and keys player Wilson Woods.
King says the record comes from "perspective of a child experiencing anxiety and depression with no way to understand or contextualize those feelings." Borrowman adds, "That's something that I am pretty intentional with in our music: singing to a girl audience and singing about my experience."
smush head out on an extensive US tour supporting she's green, plus headlining shows across the West Coast and Midwest in November. No UK dates have been announced yet.
