Spanish Horses drop "Some People" and line up debut EP Small Notions

Spanish Horses released "Some People" on 30 September, their second single and the first taste of a debut EP. Small Notions arrives 27 November via So Young Records, the label behind Cardinals and Lime Garden.

"Some People" began as a slow country ballad in Tom Onezime's hands before the band turned it. "[Onezime] brought the idea and the structure, and then we were jamming it, and it very quickly changed into this more dancey bit," guitarist Albert Cocker said. Drummer Cyril Stephan puts the target plainly: "something almost LCD Soundsystem-like with big drums and loud noise."

The five-piece, Onezime, Cocker, Victor Michee, Cyril Stephan and Spike Davis-Yuille, formed in Paris from the remains of two collapsed projects and played there two years before moving to London to sign with So Young. "Paris gave us a lot of space to be really shitty, which is essential to becoming great," Onezime said.
