Susanne Sundfør releases seventh album, cut live on a church pipe organ

Revelations of Divine Love is voice and organ only, written with Kit Downes and drawn from Julian of Norwich.

Susanne Sundfør released her seventh album, Revelations of Divine Love, on 2 October 2026. There is no band on it. Just her voice and a pipe organ, tracked live in an empty Norwegian church.

The record takes its name and its words from the fourteenth-century texts of Julian of Norwich, an English anchoress, and draws on the 1901 translation by Grace Warrack. Sundfør has said the album also presses on newer material: recent motherhood. Kit Downes, an English composer who has worked with Squarepusher and Mica Levi, wrote it with her.

Songs include “What Are We”, “For He Standeth All Alone”, “The Blessed Wounds” and “I It Am”, which carries the line: “I it am that thou servest / Thou longest for / That thou desirest…”. The record is on streaming now.
