Rhino will reissue the band's third album on November 13, with unreleased Boston and New Jersey live tapes and a Blu-ray of the Old Grey Whistle Test performance.
BY JOLT Staff · Oct 4 2026 · 1 min readRhino will release a super deluxe edition of Talking Heads' Fear Of Music on 13 November 2026. The album, the band's third, came out in August 1979 and produced four singles: Life During Wartime, Air, I Zimbra and Cities.
The set comes in 2xLP and 6xLP vinyl plus a 3xCD/Blu-ray edition. Both vinyl versions carry the remastered album and a batch of rarities. The 6xLP goes further, with unreleased live recordings from Fear Of Music era shows in Boston and New Jersey, the announcement says.
The Blu-ray adds Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround and high-resolution stereo mixes, and rare film of the band playing two songs for the BBC's The Old Grey Whistle Test. The live Life During Wartime from that broadcast is out now.
That is the full announcement so far. The box lands 13 November 2026.
