The Yummy Fur have a new studio album, Everybody Talks About The Weather, out October 5 on Upset The Rhythm. It is the Glasgow band's first full-length since they broke up in 1999, and it lands on Vinyl LP and CD.

The band started in Blantyre, a working-class suburb about 12 miles outside Glasgow, and took their name from Chester Brown's independent comic. Their 1994 debut was a 10-song 7-inch called Music By Walt Disney But Played By Yuri Gagarin Thus A Political Record; the first LP, Night Club, followed in 1996, after which Brian MacDougall joined on second guitar. Through it all the ring was John McKeown on guitar and voice, Mark Leighton on bass, and Steven Dunbar, then Lawrence Worthington, on drums.

McKeown has described the early band as a reaction against two-guitar chord rock: 45-second songs, single-note guitar lines and clear lyrics. They played occasional live shows through the 2010s before this return.
