BY JOLT Staff · Oct 16 2026 · 1 min readThis Is Lorelei, the solo project of Nate Amos, played a live-in-studio cover of "The Song With No Name" for SiriusXM on October 16, one month after the release of his Matador album The Singer In My Band.
The song is a fact of Irish rock history most listeners would not expect from Nate Amos. "The Song With No Name" came out as a Shane MacGowan & The Popes single in 1994. MacGowan set the tune on the melody of "The Homes Of Donegal," an Irish folk song written by Seán McBride in 1955. MacGowan died in 2023, three decades after the Popes version.
Amos kept it solo for the session, voice and guitar against lyrics with the ornamentation worn off. Footage of the take is on YouTube. The Slipknot shirt, in all fairness, is also in the frame.
The Singer In My Band, out now, arrived September 11 on Matador. Nothing beyond the session has been announced.
