Six artists from Warp Records' Providenza Ensemble will have new orchestral works performed at London's Barbican on 24 January. Sinfonietta Cracovia, the official orchestra of Kraków, takes the pieces. Unsound presents the night.

The ensemble is Loraine James, Puce Mary, Mabe Fratti, Clarissa Connelly, Kelman Duran and Mark William Lewis. Each wrote a piece of around ten minutes, scored for a 30-string orchestra. The works came out of a residency at Providenza, an agricultural site in Corsica, and were made under the guidance of Manchester Collective co-Artistic Director Rakhi Singh and New Zealand composer Karl Sölve Steven. Each artist puts their own sound against a full string section.

Unsound's London run lands first, across multiple venues in November, with Lorenzo Senni, RP Boo and Space Afrika among the acts.
