Junior Beat: DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ names her sources
A minimal house single that lists its ancestors on the Bandcamp page and then has to live up to them. Two versions, one loop.
BY JOLT Staff · SEP 5 2026 · 1 min readJunior Beat is a house record that arrives with its ingredients printed on the packet: Flat Beat's line, fidget house, a puppet. DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ released it on September 4, 2026, on Spells On The Telly, and it is exactly what it says it is, which turns out to be enough.
She is the pseudonymous London producer who has barely stopped since her two-hour debut Makin' Magick in 2017: twelve albums, four sets of combinisions mixtapes, a writing credit on the 1975's "Happiness". Junior Beat follows July's "Still Standing".
“So, here's my solution, combine elements of Flat Beat, Flat 55, M-Seq, Tweeter Trouble and Camisra's Let Me Show You... simple when you think about it.”
The Bandcamp note names its sources outright: Flat Beat, Flat 55, M-Seq, Tweeter Trouble, Camisra's "Let Me Show You", plus Nari & Milani's "Triangle" and the fidget house that grew in Flat Beat's shadow. The video answers Flat Beat's puppet with its own: braids, a flower dress, furniture hand-modelled in Blender, shot at 24p, with no AI involved.
What that sounds like: minimal house in the Flat Beat line, the loop carrying the weight, drift instead of a hook. The Original Mix states the figure and stops. The Extended Mix lets the same figure run until the room is doing the work, and the gap between them is the only idea here.
It is for DJs, and for anyone who never quite got Flat Beat out of the system. If you need a verse and a chorus, this is not your single.
The catch is the shape of the release. Two versions of one figure, the second asking a single loop to hold a floor on nerve alone. That is a lot to ask of a loop.
What it does, it does cleanly: three and a half, and the puppet outlasts the beat.
