Atlas Sound return with first new single in 15 years, Octoberland

Bradford Cox's solo project is back on 4AD with a sparse new track and a video.

Atlas Sound released a new single, "Octoberland", the project's first new music in 15 years. The track arrives on 4AD, the label that carried all three of the project's original albums: 2008's "Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See but Cannot Feel", 2009's "Logos" and 2012's "Parallax".

Atlas Sound is the solo outlet for Bradford Cox, the Atlanta musician who also fronts Deerhunter. "Logos" is the record the run is measured against, the one with "Walkabout" and the pair of tracks cut with Panda Bear. Fifteen years is a long silence for a project this tied to a person. The new single is deliberately bare: sparse, wiry, closer to a sketch than a statement.

The single comes with a music video, shown above. The release itself is the whole announcement so far: a single on 4AD, a video, and nothing beyond it in the materials around the drop. Cox's Bandcamp and Spotify both carry the single.
