Faust reunite without reuniting: four solo albums due on Bureau B

Faust's four co-founders have each made a solo album credited to Faust, all four due September 23, 2026 on Bureau B Records. It is the first time Hans Joachim Irmler, Jean-Hervé Peron, Werner "Zappi" Diermaier and Gunther Wusthoff appear under the band's name together since the group's early run, even if they get there separately: each set is credited to Faust with its maker filed under a "curated by" tag.

The original Faust made four albums between 1971 and 1973 and was done by 1975. These four follow the same arithmetic. Irmler's Ungebunden leans on keyboards and improvisation, including a homemade organ he built as a teenager in the sixties. Peron's MOI reads two ways, French for "me," or "maybe of interest," and runs on mostly acoustic sources with lyrics in German, English and French. Diermaier's Gugaruz, Austrian slang for corn, is his fourth Faust-related album running with Dirk Dresselhaus producing. Wusthoff's Fliegen lernen, or Learn to Fly, holds the set's closest pass at pop and dance grooves.
