Dusted, the solo indie rock project of Brian Borcherdt, released a new single, "Black Tattoo," on November 6. Borcherdt, also of Toronto dance-rock crew Holy Fuck, recorded it live to a vintage Tascam 388, with Alex Edkins of Metz and Weird Nightmare on guitar.

No click tracks were used on the record. Borcherdt says the performance kept pushing faster: "With no click tracks used anywhere on this record, this particular performance wanted to speed off the rails. But each version landed faster than the previous. After some consideration, the first take won the band vote." He describes the song as one that "propels forward, expressing that line between control and abandon, betrayal and perseverance." The video, directed by Michael Leblanc, follows Borcherdt and his daughter through the Toronto subway tunnels.

Two live dates with Weird Nightmare are set for November 18 and 19 at Osler Records in Toronto.
