Interpol release new album 'This Mirror Weighs A Ton'
The band's seventh album, produced by Andrew Wyatt, is out now.
BY JOLT Staff · Aug 31 2026 · 1 min readInterpol dropped 'This Mirror Weighs A Ton' on August 31, 2026. It’s their first album since 2022’s ‘The Other Side of Make-Believe,’ with production by Andrew Wyatt, who’s worked with Rosalía, Dua Lipa, and Lady Gaga.
The title piece includes bassist Brad Truax generating whale-like sounds from his instrument. Elsewhere, 'Bird and The Serpent' concludes with a trippy woodwind eruption, and 'Wake Up' draws on West African guitar whimsy and forceful cowbells.
'Iron City' examines AI through a future setting, whereas 'Wounded Soldier' confronts drone combat and online imagery of death. Paul Banks performs, 'Evil understands, it will propagate like a chain effect / To be displayed, the blood marks on the turf will keep expanding.'
The album has been released now. No tour dates have been revealed as of yet.
