Jeff Tweedy covers Twisted Teens as the band announce a third album this year

Jeff Tweedy covered Twisted Teens' "Wild Connection" for his Substack, posted September 12. The same week, the New Orleans band announced The Holy Cross Tigers, their third album of the year, following February's Blame The Clown and July's Florida Water Blues. Cold call it: a 2026 run most artists stretch across five.

"I like a lot of their songs and I like Caspian's voice," Tweedy wrote. "I had trouble not trying to sing like him." He has covered other people's songwriting this year too: Cameron Winter's "Love Takes Miles" and Star Moles' "Real Magic" for the newsletter, plus a recommendation of Angela Autumn's Believer on the same feed.

"On this one, I think I still sound like myself," he wrote. The album has a title and a sequence in a busy year. That is the whole of it for now: a cover, a title, three records in twelve months.
