Lawrence English's new album takes aim at nostalgia

Lawrence English releases *The Rest Is My Ghost* on 3 September 2026. The album questions nostalgia's hold over what lies ahead, and comes with a longer essay on a concept it calls Acid Nostalgia.

The music is expansive: drones, thick brass, choir vocals, synthesized layers. The first piece sets its tone with deep bass and distant voice fragments, while Acid Nostalgia widens that range through measured progression.

English calls the album rich on the surface and fine in the detail, which fits a collection made to be felt in the space as much as listened to. Nothing beyond the record has been revealed, but the Bandcamp and streaming pages are already up.
