Lawrence English's new album takes aim at nostalgia

The Rest Is My Ghost turns on an idea the album calls Acid Nostalgia.

Lawrence English puts out an album titled *The Rest Is My Ghost* on 3 September 2026. This record challenges nostalgia’s hold over what lies ahead, and includes a longer essay on a concept it refers to as Acid Nostalgia.

The music is expansive: drones, thick brass, choir vocals, synthesized layers. The first piece establishes its tone with deep bass and far-off voice fragments, while Acid Nostalgia broadens that range through measured progression.

English describes the album as rich on the surface and fine in the detail, which suits a collection made to be felt in the space as much as listened to. Nothing beyond the record is revealed as of now, but the bandcamp and streaming pages are already up.
