Loraine James shocked everyone on Tuesday, September 4, by dropping a fresh record, <i>It's Nothing Personal</i>, available solely via Bandcamp at no cost.

James put her idea plainly: “Free Download. Only on Bandcamp.” A CD is added as a strategic move.

Putting the music directly into hands-free mode is a move both newer record shops live by, and one that veteran fans have earned. With Bandcamp Friday and the immediate marker set, the album is her first release since Hyperdub LP <i>Detached From The Rest Of You</i> in 2025, pushing even more sharply into the detached seam she tunes toward.

Sure, notes low rest, sounds flippered middle as 'Slipt Scrays'. That’s presumably okay too.
