Naya Yeira plots a six-track reset with Almost There
The London independent artist says the EP has been around three years in the making, and she wants it to replace her breakout single.
BY JOLT Staff · Oct 31 2026 · 1 min readNaya Yeira has a six-track EP, Almost There, around three years in the works. The 25-year-old London independent artist talks through the record in a photo diary about its making. No release date or label is announced.
Her first song, 'Afterglow', came out of a songwriting class at London's BIMM Music Institute in 2021. The pop-jazz number has passed a million streams and is the most-listened track on her Spotify. The follow-up has not run to the same script: "My first song ever got a million streams, and then it all fell apart," she says.
Almost There moves her toward experimental R&B, indie and internet-pop. Tracks include 'raffle ticket', 'i might hit record', 'do my dance' and 'wicked games', a 2025 cut. She describes 'raffle ticket' as a song about how love is a lottery, and 'i might hit record' as about self-love.
She handles her own visuals, having taught herself Python, Blender3D and TouchDesign. "It took me a minute to figure out what I would sound like," she says. "Maybe only in 2025, and I started in 2019."
