BY JOLT Staff · Oct 26 2026 · 1 min readPhilip Frobos, vocalist and bassist of Atlanta's Omni, has announced his second solo album. Taste for the Unsavory lands 29 January 2027 on Upset The Rhythm, with lead single "The Handoff" out now and featuring Gustaf's Lydia Gammill.
It follows Frobos's 2021 solo debut Vague Enough to Satisfy, a soundtrack written to his debut novel of the same name. The new record was co-produced by Rodrigo Avendaño of Soccer Mommy, and its guests run wide: Mastodon's Bill Kelliher plays on "Fulton County Stadium at 8:05 AM," Preoccupations' Matthew Flegel on "Nautical Knots." Frobos has described the album as "a pulp noir tale… told in a Madchester meets Athens, GA style."
Omni's most recent album was 2024's Souvenir, released on Sub Pop. Omni bandmate Frankie Broyles did the artwork for Taste for the Unsavory, and a cocktail zine of original drinks and pastel drawings by Emily Frobos ships with the LP.
Taste for the Unsavory is out 29 January 2027 via Upset The Rhythm. "The Handoff" is streaming now.
