Sean Ono Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl announce birth of son Aurelius

Sean Ono Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl announced the birth of their son, Aurelius. The couple, together since 2007, shared posts of themselves with the baby. Lennon wrote that he and Kemp Muhl had “indeed created a Human Bean.” The new arrival makes John Lennon a grandfather, 46 years after his death.

Lennon is the only child of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. He and Kemp Muhl collaborate as The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. Recent projects are not in short supply for either: Lennon released the solo album Asterisms in 2024 and reunited with Les Claypool for a new Claypool Lennon Delirium record. Kemp Muhl played bass with St. Vincent on the “All Born Screaming” tour.

The same energy shows up in the birth announcement. Kemp Muhl called the baby “agentic alien quaternary code” and asked for burping tips. Sleep is thin, Aphex Twin and Stravinsky are on heavy rotation, and nothing else has been announced.
