Shady Bug announce new album and a single that spent years in the drawer

St. Louis fuzz-pop band return with I wanted to be there, out October 30.

Shady Bug have announced their new album, I wanted to be there, out October 30 on Julia's War and Bee Side Cassettes. They also shared lead single "my night routine," which started in 2019 as a bedroom demo and was reworked after a pandemic-era version got scrapped.

"Ripple and I decided to rework the song in 2024," singer Hannah says, "adding a new grungey part and my guitar solo at the end." The 10-day recording session at the Nest, a St. Louis house venue, follows the band's 2023 EP What's The Use? and their 2019 full-length Lemon Lime.

Album out October 30. Live dates are not yet announced.
