Willis Alan Ramsey gets a first vinyl reissue, and an interview to go with it

The Texas songwriter's 1972 debut finally lands on vinyl, and he says he is thinking past the second record he abandoned.

A new interview with Texas songwriter Willis Alan Ramsey ran on October 26, timed to a recent live appearance and the first vinyl reissue of his self-titled debut.

The record came out in 1972 and has spent more than 50 years as one of the early '70s' cult albums, a lone full-length that never got a sequel. The follow-up he long promised has yet to materialize. The reissue is the first time the debut has been pressed on vinyl, per the interview's framing.

The conversation covers the making of that debut, the decades since, and the music still to come. Ramsey, it says, is thinking beyond the follow-up he once abandoned. No release date or label for new material is announced.

Per Apple Music, the album is listed as Willis Alan Ramsey, released January 1, 1972.
