FAUZIA: the fragments make their case
Four songs, under ten minutes, and a title that sounds like a gentle goodbye. FAUZIA's Mexican Summer EP makes a small space feel deliberate.

It runs about ten minutes, with a 1:33 opener and three other tracks that stay close to two and a half minutes. The titles form a kind of quiet sequence: 'Guide', 'Without me', 'I can be anything', 'Just a dream'. This is indie rock in a small frame, a record that wants to make one point and get out.
The compression is the point. At 1:33, 'Guide' is less a song than a signpost, and the restraint carries through the rest of the tracklist. Nothing overstays. The titles are short and plain, and the closing title, 'Just a dream', pulls the whole thing into a single soft breath. That is a real skill, making a small space feel deliberate.
The weakness is a matter of weight. Under ten minutes, the ideas stay as snaps rather than scenes. 'I can be anything' promises a transformation, but 'Just a dream' wipes it away quickly, and the EP can feel like a sketchbook waiting for the full draft. It works on its own terms, though. I Was Here For a Moment knows exactly what it is, and it leaves the door open.
