Primate House skip that fate the simple way: the self-titled return, released on their own with no label behind it, sounds like a band that never agreed to stop. Wiry guitars and a rhythm section that pushes, and songs that treat three minutes as a ceiling.
Self-releasing cuts both ways. Nothing here is sanded down, which suits the songs. An outside ear never trimmed anything either, and a couple of tracks keep talking after the point lands.
