The Body: the tracklist makes the argument
Master, We Perish is a six-track EP from The Body, out July 31 on Thrill Jockey. The titles carry weight before a note is heard.

The strongest thing here is the order. 'Cop Killer' runs straight into 'Dead Cop,' a pair that does not need a chorus to explain itself. 'Worship' is the longest cut by more than three minutes, so the center is weight, not decoration. These titles are arguments.
The risk is sameness of intent. Nearly every title deals in agony, worship, death, or blunt politics, and 'Untitled' offers the only space where the record breathes. At 35 minutes, with six songs pitched toward the same severity, the EP has little air in its structure. You can admire the severity without hearing much room to move.
As a written object, Master, We Perish is hard, clear and committed. It earns a solid 3.5 on structure alone. The sound has to match.
