Actress drops Radical Frame, his first solo album in two years

Actress released Radical Frame on 18 September 2026. It is Darren Cunningham's first proper solo album in more than two years and his return to Ninja Tune, the label that put out LXXXVIII in 2023. A review by Antonio Poscic ran the same morning at 6:00am.

The album opens with 'The Experiment' and 'Gimme Tha' Fuckin' Money Man'. 'Live By You' features raps by CASISDEAD. The record follows a busy stretch: Statik (2024) and Дарен Дж. Каннінгем (2024), then the EPs Grey Interiors and Tranzkript 1 in 2025, plus a collaboration with Suzanne Ciani this year on Concrète Waves.

Ninja Tune does not call Radical Frame a comeback. It is the return leg of a decade-long partnership, arriving after work that kept Cunningham moving rather than parked between albums.
