Robert Smith says The Cure will play 2027 shows with new songs

Robert Smith says The Cure will play more concerts in 2027, and the shows will carry new material. He said so in a short pre-recorded segment for BBC Radio 6 Music, aired around the band's nomination for 2026 Artist of the Year.

"I'm looking forward to more Cure concerts in 2027," Smith said. "Of course I'm not allowed to say where or when yet, but I'm confident they'll be bursting with new songs."

Those songs would follow Songs from a Lost World, the band's 2024 album, which they have been teasing a follow-up to. No release date for that record has been announced.

Locations and dates for the 2027 concerts are also unannounced. Smith's wording makes clear the plans exist; everything else waits on a permission slip.
