BY JOLT Staff · Nov 4 2026 · 1 min readThe Daphne Oram Trust's centenary programme closes on 21 November with Daphne Oram At 100, an all-day event at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford. Discussions, workshops and performances run through the day, with sets from Afromerm and Abi Asisa.
Oram, who died in 2003, co-founded the BBC's Radiophonic Workshop in 1958. In the 1960s she built Oramics, a synthesis method that read graphic markings drawn on film and turned them into sound. The machine behind it was found in a barn in France in 2008 and became the centrepiece of the Oramics To Electronica exhibition at the Science Museum in 2011. The Trust formed in 2012 and placed her archive on long-term loan at Goldsmiths College.
Daphne Oram At 100 is the last date on the centenary calendar. Nothing beyond the Bradford event is announced.
