Barrie drops "Gloria," four years in the making

Barrie Lindsay returns with a new single that starts on harpsichord and ends in buzzy synthpop.

BY JOLT Staff · Oct 28 2026 · 1 min read

Barrie released a new single, "Gloria," on October 28, 2026. It is the first solo material from Barrie Lindsay since 2023's "Hard Candy."

"I've been working on this song for four years," Lindsay said of the track. Despite the name, "Gloria" is not a cover of Them, Patti Smith or Laura Branigan. It opens as a bright harpsichord workout and then turns into buzzy, psychedelic synthpop.

The single follows 2022 album Barbara and comes after a stretch of side work: a 2024 collaboration with Hot Chip's Joe Goddard and a contribution to a Margo Guryan tribute album. Lindsay records as Barrie and is based in Brooklyn.

No album or tour dates are announced. "Gloria" is out now as a single.
