Bleary Eyed drop a mechanized "Wander," and it isn't shoegaze

Bleary Eyed released "Wander" on September 22, a mechanized lo-fi single out now on Born Loser. It is the Philadelphia band's first new music since last year's album Easy.

The song does not sit where the band's name might put it. It lands closer to chillwave fused with post-hardcore, tempo pushed and the guitars run through machines until they sound wrong on purpose. Bleary Eyed say the words are about a drive from New York to Atlanta for SXSW, an overnight run that put the driver under. "There was a memory of nodding off at the wheel for a split second and pulling off," the band said. The second half goes vaguer and slackens, about the listless orbit that catches you on a tour or in a bar, far from home but somehow still tuned in.

Tours with Glitterer and Swervedriver are on the calendar. Dates are not part of the announcement yet.
