Merryn Jeann self-produces her second album, Fear Of The Beauty Parlour

Merryn Jeann releases her second album, Fear Of The Beauty Parlour, on 23 September 2026. She produced it herself. It follows Dog Beach, where Rob Ellis helped the Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist organise her eccentric ideas. This time she organises them alone.

The record was written while both of Jeann's grandmothers died. Her other grandmother's voice had already appeared on Dog Beach. The title and artwork grew from that loss: Jeann went back to one grandmother's house, pulled close to a hundred pairs of shoes out of a cupboard and arranged them around the bed for the cover.

The opening track is called 'Woof'. Further titles listed include 'For My Lover And The Gum Trees' and 'Amateur Radio Postcard'. Music is streaming now, with no label attached to the release and no tour dates announced yet.
