William Shatner plays his first metal show at 95

William Shatner played his first metal show on Saturday evening, September 19th, at Park West in Chicago. The 95-year-old was backed by his band The *uckers.

The set ran on covers: Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train," Motörhead's "Ace of Spades," Metallica's "Enter Sandman." He also played three originals, "do not go gentle into that good night," "will we care when the sky turns black," and "damn old age."

Shatner is at work on his debut metal album, What the F Is Heavy Metal?, for Cleopatra Records. Brian May, Rob Halford, Tony Iommi and Dave Lombardo are listed as guests.

He and The *uckers play Chicago's Riot Fest at 5:25 p.m. local time today. Nothing else on the schedule is announced.
