Sacred Bones is putting out Live At Max's Kansas City, a 1980 Alan Vega live recording that has never appeared on vinyl or streaming. The set was recorded on July 18, 1980 at the New York club. Seven solo songs, with guitarist Phil Hawk joining Vega. It arrives 20 November 2026. The lead track is 'JUKEBOX BABY (Live At Max's Kansas City)' and the cover photo is by Marcia Resnick.

The timing is the story. The show happened weeks before Vega released his debut solo LP, so this is him performing that material live before anyone had a record to take home. Vega spent the decade prior fronting Suicide with Martin Rev; the solo turn was a different animal, and this tape captures it at the start.

The album is available to pre-order, with the lead track streaming now.
