BY JOLT Staff · Oct 22 2026 · 1 min readBasht. have released Poor Advice, their debut album, on LAB Records. London-based producer Ali Chant (Dry Cleaning, Lime Garden, Sorry) produced it; the record runs 10 tracks. Apple's listed release date reads 2026-10-09.
The Dublin four-piece played their first indoor in-store at Spindizzy Records in Dublin last Monday, with a Rough Trade in-store in a few days. The line-up only settled in September 2025: Jack Leavey (guitar/vocals), Ryan McClelland (drums), Louis Christle (bass) and Lughaidh Armstrong Mayoc (lead guitar).
Jack Leavey: "It's not all one person. Everyone has their 25% share to give into the band and the music, which I think really reflects in the album." The record draws its themes from the current political landscape and the influence of the Irish state and Catholic Church. Armstrong Mayoc said the band worked on it once the line-up was locked: "we really put our heads down."
What's next: the Rough Trade in-store, then a UK tour. Tours with Miles Kane, a SXSW run in Texas and an LA showcase at the Moroccan Lounge brought them here.
