Drake drops FOMO film and withdraws it the same night

Drake released Fear of Missing Out on YouTube around 10:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, September 17. He called it a not-so-short film. It was pulled shortly afterward. By the next day it was back up.

The film pairs music videos from his three-album drop this summer with about five new songs the audience had not heard. At least one leans on country: a new track interpolates Ella Langley's number one single, Choosin' Texas. Langley appears in the video. So do Don Toliver, Yeat, Sexyy Red, Winnie Harlow, and his mother, Sandi Graham.

Drake supplied his own advance notice in a statement billed as life advice. He warned that nobody was coming to save the viewer and closed on how music industry people talk. "They keep saying our genre is dying," he wrote. "Videos don't matter. I still care. So be kind and rewind."

Nothing confirms a separate release for the new cuts. Neither artist nor label has said a thing about timing, and previous cycles suggest the material disappears again before next year.
