Green Lung put London's corpse railway on their fourth album
Necropolitan is out now, a stoner-doom record about the Necropolis Railway and Percy Bysshe Shelley.
BY JOLT Staff · Sep 16 2026 · 1 min readGreen Lung put out their fourth album, Necropolitan, on September 16, 2026. The British stoner-doom group built it around London's Necropolis Railway, the Victorian line that carried the dead to Brookwood Cemetery.
That history runs through the whole tracklist. 'Necropolitan Line' is the direct tribute, with organ by John Wright. Lead single 'Evil in This House' opens the album. 'Black Magick Radio' takes in UK pirate radio, the Process Church and Le Macabre, the old London café. Verses by Percy Bysshe Shelley show up in the tracks, and 'Ozymandias' has both a keyboard solo and a guitar solo.
Castle Rat's Riley Pinkerton reads a Bible verse to introduce 'Alostrael (Be My Babalon)'. The band describe the closer 'To the Gallows Born' as lying 'somewhere between Maiden's Hallowed Be Thy Name and Sinatra's My Way'. Merch includes a cassette.
